Bloomfield Wins At Westmill

Darren Bloomfield's UK Winter tour continued with another victory at a damp Herts Nitro Club over the weekend, but he was pushed hard by up and coming Agama driver Ollie Currie.

Qualifying was as always at Herts very close, and Darren managed to take the top spot in rounds 1 and 3 to take overall TQ. Fellow Agama drivers Ollie Currie, Jonny and Will Skidmore and Jamie Reeks all qualified directly for the main final also. Tyre choice was very varied in the wet to damp conditions, and the BETA runners were trying all different treads to come up with the best solution.
By the time the final came around, the track was mostly just damp and Darren decided to go with Cubez in Supersoft compound, where as Ollie chose Freeride and Simon Reeves was on Enforcer.
The start of the final saw Darren and Ollie up the front and Simon coming through from a bad start, but his Enforcer tyres were clearly working very well and he was right on the pace. Sadly for him a radio issue forced him out at half distance.
Darren continued to lead with a decent margin over Ollie, but a mistake on the big jump after his second pit stop brought Ollie up close and he tried hard over the last few minutes to bridge the gap, but Darren had enough to keep him at bay, for an Agama A215 1-2 at the flag.
