Currie Wins at Westmill with A215

The Herts Nitro Club winter series got under way this weekend, and despite heavy rain overnight the usual spectacular work from the Herts track crew got the track in useable condition by 10.00 in the morning.
Qualifying started out a bit sticky with a few sections that were very slippery due to the oil that has been added to the surface to bind the dirt together, but by the end it was pretty much completely dry except for the start to the main straight.

Ollie had a few mistakes in round 1, but then put together a super consistent run to take TQ in round 2 and would end up 2nd on the grid for the main final. Using the Agama A215 for the first time, he was revelling in the improved stability and performance, and was finding he could push much harder than with the previous A8.
Tony Truman was making his first foray into racing after taking a bit of a break after the Worlds, and after a few mistakes and set up improvements he was starting to look like his old self by the end of qualifying, he would line up 4th.
Notable performances from other Agama drivers were, Jamie Reeks, Dave Stanley and Chris Smoothy who would all line up in the main final after excellent day long performances.

The main final was a battle between the Agama boys Ollie and Tony, with Simon Reeves and Kevin Brunsden right in the mix. Just before the 1st round of pit stops Ollie took the lead and he would never relinquish it. Tony was battling hard with Simon Reeves, who later unfortunately had to retire and this let Kevin into the action and he would finally capitalise on a small error by Tony to take 2nd, with Tony rounding out the podium in 3rd.
