South of France Regionals

Hi everybody,

The 16th of March, there was the 2nd round of south french championship on the awesome Cogolin’s track.

Sun was already here, and the track was flat with a good grip, like the last week. Jumps were excellent with good sequences.

In promotion class, 2 drivers were in the main.

The first is Patrick Diomede (once again!) who were able to finish 2nd after strong qualifications. His Agama was easy to drive and comfortable on this hard and pleasant track. Good job man! :D

2nd driver, which is none other than the Rc Nitro Model shop’s boss, Xavier Colpaert, who was happy to be in the main. Unfortunately, he had some problems and was forced to abandon whereas he was in a good rhythm during the main.

In open class, I was alone to represent the Nemo/Agama’s crew. After soft qualifications where I tested something new on my set-up, I easily went up to the main after the semis.

The main was at an awesome level with Aigoin/Medjoubi/Robin brothers. A safe driving let me finish 3rd behind Jerome and Yannick Aigoin. So I was happy of this good result, and take the 2nd place of the championship behind Yannick :)

Next regional step was out of my region, in Ligue 10 exactely, last Sunday, on the Oraison’s track.

Track looks very pleasant, a little bit bumpy, really dusty, but with superb sequences of jumps, I really loved that!

Nemo and Agama were present with our last young recruit Loïc Nozeran, who was on his home track, and myself.

Loïc looked good for qualifications, with a safe driving style. But semi showed us again that we can be confident in him with a strong and intelligent run who let him go up in the main.

In the other semi, I went up in the main without problems.

In the main, with a strong level again with some names like Aigoin, Rodriguez, Reynaud, Theuil… It would be difficult to get a good place!
Loic ran correctly and got the rhythm to stay in contact of the other drivers of the main for his 2nd race at this level! But level was really high and he finished at a strong 7th place for like I said, his 2nd race in open class! Well done Loïc! :) We are happy of your result and you won’t stop to progress week after week! ^^

For my case, I was 3rd for a long time behind Aigoin and Reynaud, and some times with a strong and awesome battle between Theuil and myself, but my clutch ball bearing decided to stop my race and I flamed out 4 minutes before the end, and left my place on the podium. But happy of the result and my car :) It was a good day again!

Next steps, another regional race out of my region, in ligue 10 again, on the new little Meyrargues track this week, and the EFRA GP in Noeux les Mines next week!

See you soon on tracks!
